thank you vali =) it was indeed a surprise, your letter. no wonder you had asked for my address last sunday morning. haas. it has been quite some time since we've seen each other, and even more so since we wrote to each other, but we still keep in touch every other day, just like how i had promised you i would. it's nice to know that you are holding onto the fond memories from the first three months, and that you do not regret moving to ac. that is the most important: that you do not regret any of the choices that you make, simply by making the most and best out of it. it may seem difficult at times, maybe even most of the times, but when you've gotten through it, you'll be amazed at the strength, courage, determination, perseverance and resilience that had brought you so far. and how much you've grown since. anything on paper doesn't matter in the end if you've truly enjoyed your life's journey. a paper is just something that can be earned, but not learned. what matters is your heart and all that it comes with, together with all that you have gained from the trials and tribulations that you had bravely fought past. prelims are but another station in our train of life. they have a way of making you make a decision: evaluate your circumstances and think of where you want to head to, and in which direction. sometimes, you may head in the wrong direction (just like what happened to me and ruifen yesterday), but there's always the opportunity to get off the next stop and take the train in the correct direction this time round. sometimes, in the midst of going in the wrong direction, you may get something good in return (just like how rf and i caught sim wan just in time at yck station). things may seem to look bleak when you begin to realise that you have gotten on the wrong station, but then again, when you try to look at things in different ways (like rf calling sw just as we left amk station), it makes your previous error or folly, sort of, worth it. what i mean to say is that, there are many ways of getting somewhere. you do not have to get there with the least time possible, or via the most convenient way available, but rather being able to get to the destinations that you long to. some people like to make frequent stops, getting off stations to smell the roses or do something enriching, in the process delaying their trip to their next destination. coming back to prelims, it can be interpreted as a reminder, jerking us back to reality, making us aware of what lies ahead of us, which is our path after the A levels. if you want to make things work, things will definitely work, but just maybe not in the way you had intended. like getting on the wrong train, or getting off at the wrong station (due to dozing off -> sense of indifference or lack of importance), things can still work out, maybe even better than what you had been expecting. you've got the right attitude! don't give up! giving up now, is like dozens of train stations closing down, leaving you with less destinations to go to. so keep the faith! =) for the rest of my long-winded reply, go check your yahoo email! (ps: i sent it from cosmo_puzzle@yahoo.com) =)
