=)))))))))))))))) phews. the race is over! my sis and i completed the 10km in less than 1h 37 min! haas. brisk walking most of the way, but hey, it's faster than some! =D dad sent us to the toa payoh stadium at about 5.15am and waited for us to get on the bus. reached there at about 6am, and met up with vali =) . oh and today was the first time i patronised a mobile toilet. much to my horror, there was no water from the tap. was almost pulling the tap-head out when i decided to just ask how to use it. AND, my sis said "there's no water". >.< the baggage area was pretty organised, especially for our section hee. there were 9000 people participating! for the beginning part of the race, we ran, rather enthusiastically at that haa, but somehow the 2km mark only came after very very long... after the u-turn, going through the vast greenery, the distance covered per unit time seemed to increase. guess it's cos of the monotony, which helped to sort of lessen the boredom. *shrugs* but when it was through the roads passing the central business district buildings, the journey seemed more tedious. the fastest 10km participant clocked about 40 min+. *wow* the post-race was messy though. sis got her balloons. =p oh gosh, we thought we were entitled to the finisher's t-shirt (which we found out later on that only the full 42km runners have that) and queued up at a very loooong queue for the tent that said 't-shirts'. grr. in the end, it was for those who had not collected their packs at the sports expo. arghhhh! so many of us queued under the hot blazing sun just to find out that we were in the queue for the baggage for runners with id 20000-21000! =X well at least our baggage queue, practically had no queue at all! hee. retrieved bags easily. still bitter about standing in the sun for so darn long. now my skin's itching, maybe sun-burned. today is the first time i took part in a mass run/walk. today is the first time i took part in a standard chartered one. today is the first time i completed 10km at one go. today is the first time i used a mobile toilet. today is the first time i woke up only after 3h of sleep just to run. today is the first time i got on a train and bus with my sis carrying 8 balloons. today is the first time i used deep heat to rub my legs for more than half an hour. and yesterday i caught a liverpool match live live live. =D supposed to leave hard rock cafe at half-time, but ended up watching the whole thing plus the live band performance, arriving home only at 11.30pm. went to bed only at 1 plus after sis and i packed our bags, pinned our bibs and fastened our championchip. so anyway, i knew crouch would score sooner or later! i had faith in him all this while! i said before that he'd score before the season ends. =D and thanks mr wigan goal keeper, michael politt. i thought crouch scored that one, espn put him name down after the goal, but credit goes to mr politt for pushing it further into the net. =) what a good start. hehh. but crouch finally scored a goal after a "goal famine" (i quote, as read from an article published online), in which he had gone goal-less for almost 24h worth of matches. Image hosted by Photobucket.com can you feel the joyyy??? =D dinner at hard rock cafe was good... ordered some starters just as the match began at 8.45, then got our main courses. couldn't finish my mashed potatoes - portions are huge. i was actually sitting at a position with a fantastic view of the large screen, BUT due to the attendance of a band, the screen disappeared and i changed seats to look at the tv which was initially above my head. tough view, had to cran neck and all, but worth it worth it! garcia did what i felt was a crespo, putting the ball in just in front of the post. Image hosted by Photobucket.com gimme santa fe spring rolls anytime! left the place a very very happy girl. that was for sure. =) next match! 6 dec! away at chelsea's! talking about chelsea, when i was still awake before 1am, i recall the 'goal' scored by chelsea was an own goal by fabio, but in the newspapers and the report on soccer.net, john terry got credit for it. ehhs, no idea what's going on here. *shrugs* so that was my saturday and sunday. one of my best weekends ever. =) on friday, met up with huijun in the evening, had dinner at hans' with that cheery girl and her friend, huiling. that day was the first day i stepped into the National Library. finally eh? haha. planned on going there many times before, but each time, something crops up and i never got to go there. so finally i have trodded the grounds of the new library, and even into the new drama centre! did volunteer work with huijun for wild rice's 'oi! sleeping beauty!' wishing tree, programmes, fun packs, light sticks, costumes, mrs morrier (former ijtp pri teacher!!!), autograph session, feedback forms, that was what it was all about, pretty much. Image hosted by Photobucket.com ps: for the record, i was definitely not one of the last few for the race. =p
