yest, helped ruishan out with dr william tan's fund raising for the elderly at temasek polytechnic. went around with donation tins, in which the money collected's going to help funding for transport (oh boy oh boy, the ambulance!), rehab, physio, nursing treatment etc for geylang east and toa payoh senior citizen health care centres.
helped in the sales of his poster, and caught a bit of his talk with peisi. hahas. that girl has been deeply inspired by his life and achievements. i felt bad when i mentioned to her that we should be going (since we had sneaked in afterall =D). he is definitely an inspirational figure. with achievements including an ultramarathon, Antartica marathon (ohhh the penguins!), guinness world records, it just goes to show that anything is possible if we desire hard enough and try hard enough. action speaks louder than words, and he's living proof.
so just to advertise, there's going to be another awareness programme, on 4th jan, at temasek poly, i think (not sure if i'm helping out again *shrugs*). his next activity is on 5-6 Jan 2006, 6pm to 6pm at temasek poly. registration fee is $5, but it sure is worth it for the cause; for the elderly. cheer him on. run with him.
and there he was, after his second session at our booth! a pleasant fellow, who was having an informal autograph session with a few students who had purchased his poster. and peisi got to be their photographer. she was bouncing with joy and excitement! =D he was just metres away from us. haas. didn't manage to get a photo though.
thank you uncle vincent and uncle wong for the ride back to the polyclinic!
oh yesss! while i was waiting for ruishan in the polyclinic, i bumped into xu lao shi and his son! haha. what a small small world! he said he stays at upper aljunied and was heading to the geylang east library later. whoa. last week, wendy said she saw mrs ho and her family. and yest i saw xu lao shi. =D

finished antoine de saint-exupery's the little prince on my trips to and from geylang east on 155.
i surprised myself as i was reaching the ending, where the little prince was to go back to his planet. i had felt a tinge of sadness and even a bit of tears.
